A new restaurant is coming to a Valdese space that has been vacant for more than a year.
Mill Town Social House plans to open at 118 Main St. W., Valdese, in May, said owner Candi Taylor. The space previously housed The Levee Brewery and Pub, which closed in late 2023.
Taylor said the new business will offer light food options like sandwiches, small bites and flatbreads plus a daily salad bar, along with wine and beer.
鈥淲e want the atmosphere really just to be a relaxed, 鈥 new and fresh place,鈥 Taylor said. 鈥淲e want you to come in and just be able to enjoy some good food. 鈥 Good food, good drinks with good friends, meet new people, enjoy yourself.鈥
She said the bar will have 12 mostly local craft beers on tap with a couple of domestic beers like Michelob Ultra and Miller Lite.
鈥淲ords can鈥檛 describe how excited we are,鈥 Taylor said.
She said there will be a social den inside the restaurant聽鈥 a room with cozy furniture, a television and games like chess, Jenga and the hook and ring game where players try to swing a ring onto a hook on the wall.
There will be live music most weekends and karaoke or open mic nights throughout the week, Taylor said
The Social House is expected to open by late May.
